hello again dA.  sorry I've been missing again.  I keep meaning to be better about responding to messages but it just doesn't happen ><
Anyway here's an update

~Saw Watchmen last night.  Music was awful.  Enjoyed it otherwise.  Anybody else?
~My [link] sequel is still being worked on.  I'd like to get it posted up before it's been an entire year since the last one ><  It's almost done and has more than twice as many items as the last one.

:iconnanasfreak: has tagged me so i have to do this survey...again lol

o1. Post these rules.
o2. Each person tagged must post 8 random facts about themselves.
o3. Tagged ones should write a journal about these facts.
o4. At the end of the post tag 8 more deviants
o5. Go to their page telling them they're tagged.
o6. No tagging back

o1. I think anyone who has described something as being 'so cash' should be shot in the face.
o2. I keep a plastic bat over my bedroom door.
o3. The action figures on my computer desk include headless Optimus Prime, Cobra Commander, Boba Fett, and DBGT Vegeta.
o4. I prefer foreign music partly because I don't have to know if lyrics are stupid.
o5. I hate Pokemon but keep an Electobuzz on my keychain.
o6. I like to adjust the color of my media player to match my desktop wallpaper.
o7. I always sleep better when it's thunderstorming.
o8. This has got to be like the fifth time I've done this survey >_< lol

I'm not tagging anyone.

Commissions are still closed, sorry!

Away!

I think I liked Watchmen more as a movie than as a book - I thought the movie was fantastic! A few minor things were missing, but they weren't that big of a deal (the biggest complaint I had about missing scenes was the scene where Jon's dad throws the watch parts away and pushes him into science instead). I didn't mind the music, but I tend to accept whatever music is in movies and just roll with it :D

Why no love for the Pokemen?

They're adorable.

Well see I started off rebelling against Pokemon, because everyone loved them, so I was like, "Ya'll are dorks. Pokemon suck."

But THEN... after like, Beast Wars and X-Men ended on fox kids in the afternoon, back when afterschool cartoons still existed, I'd forget to change the channel from time to time, so I'd end up watching Monster Rancher and Digimon occasionally, because I was too lazy to change it. And THEN I gradually began to like Monster Rancher and Digimon... and started watching them regularly. And eventually, I was like, "Well... I like these two japanese anime franchises about children collecting and battling adorable monsters... I might as well give Pokemon a try too."

So then I got Pokemon Yellow and Silver for my gameboy, and they were both addictive little handheld games that I enjoyed, so I've been buying them ever since. Still don't really watch the show though, for the most part.

But they are fun little monster-fighting RPGs... and addictive... once you catch one, you must catch them all. O_O

I see. My brother used to really enjoy all those little monster/creature shows, so I wound up watching them too. Monster Rancher was alright but I could never get into the others. I always thought the characters were pretty lacking personality-wise.

:giggle: that's okay, I just had trouble coming up with new things to say lol.

Spider-man key-chain sounds awesome, I think my Pokemon was from Burger King ><

Which music, the stuff composed by tyler bates or the other stuff? I didn't have a problem with it personally. I know some stuff was chosen because it is mentioned in the book in some way (Ride of the Valkyries). The song during the scene on Archie did make it funny, unintentionally I think. I liked the movie, its hard for me to say how much I liked it because I had just read the book for the first time a couple weeks before so it was still pretty fresh in my head. I'll probably like it more...watching the watcmen...on DVD.

Not the composed background music but the other stuff. It just seemed to me that a lot of it really didn't suit the scenes, it just felt out of place and awkward, even if some of it was mentioned in the book. I don't know, I just thought a lot of it didn't work well in the movie. That was my only real complaint though.
Having just read it, was there anything about the movie that particularly struck you?

No scene really jumped out at me as particularly well done or bad. I thought some of the scenes felt more powerful in the book. I wish they would have left in some more of Rorschach and the psychiatrist that really developed the character. Overall I guess the performance of Jackie Earl Haley as Rorschach i found to be the most striking and true to the book. I also thought Nite Owl's character/actor was very good. He was easy to empathize with. I thought Ozymandias was the lamest of the bunch.
